Sunnen, TIBO Form Alliance to Offer Deep Hole Machining Under One Roof
Sunnen Products Company (St. Louis) and TIBO Tiefbohrtechnik GmbH (Pfullingen, Germany) have formed a strategic alliance to jointly market and sell complementary deep hole machining technologies worldwide.
The partnership pairs Sunnen's honing and bore finishing capabilities with TIBO's deep hole drilling portfolio, which includes BTA drilling, gundrilling, and rifling systems. Together, the companies will coordinate sales and marketing efforts, initially targeting customers across Europe and the Middle East, with plans to expand regionally over time.
The combined offering covers a broad range of deep hole machining processes in a single-source arrangement: deep hole drilling (solid drilling and counter boring), rifling (button rifling and crown cutters), honing (horizontal and vertical), reaming (pull reaming), skiving and burnishing, and bottle boring, including contour holes. The portfolio is also positioned to serve defense-sector applications, which the companies cite as a growing market segment.
While both companies will continue to operate independently and maintain separate product lines, this partnership allows each company to offer customers access to processes outside its own product line.
