MotionTech Brings Automation and Packaging Technology to the US Market

European automation firm MotionTech launches in the U.S., tapping industry vet Kristian Hulgard to build out sales and service from Dallas-Fort Worth.

MotionTech, a Stockholm-based automation and packaging technology provider, is entering the U.S. market and has appointed Kristian Hulgard as Executive Sales Director for North America, effective immediately. He'll run the U.S. business from the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

The company already has a foothold here: it's completed more than 30 installations for U.S. customers, including warehouse automation partners Dematic and Knapp. The formal launch adds a dedicated local sales and service presence, which CEO Louise Ringström Grandinson said customers had been asking for.

MotionTech's initial U.S. focus is end-of-line packaging, storage systems, and conveying solutions—the same categories that built its business across Europe. The company says it plans to expand into a full commercial and service operation over time.

Hulgard, who has a background scaling commercial operations in automation, said his early priorities are getting MotionTech's products in front of customers and building out a distribution network. "American manufacturers and distributors are investing heavily in automation to stay competitive," he said, calling it a chance to build something from the ground up.

Grandinson said Dallas–Fort Worth gives the company a solid base to serve customers across North America as it makes its long-term push into the U.S.
