X-365 Precision XY Gantry System With Nanometer Feedback
PI's X-365 Precision XY Gantry System is a modular Cartesian gantry platform designed for industrial automation, semiconductor handling, laser processing, and laboratory automation applications requiring high throughput and high accuracy. It bridges the gap between traditional XY stages and full robotic systems, combining extended travel with planar accuracy and repeatability.
The system offers configurable travel ranges from 8 x 8 in to 24 x 32 in (200 x 200 mm to 600 x 800 mm). Integrated linear encoder feedback provides nanometer-class sensor resolution, supporting coordinated motion across large work areas while maintaining positional stability for pick-and-place, multi-field inspection, and patterning tasks.
The mechanical design incorporates precision recirculating ball bearing guides for stiffness and flatness, along with thermally decoupled components to maintain performance stability. The platform supports tooling and payloads across extended XY travel ranges and can be configured as a dual-axis gantry with options for additional vertical or rotary axes.
The X-365 is compatible with EtherCat-based motion control platforms, enabling coordinated motion profiles, automated multi-axis sequences, third-party equipment integration, and precision laser control for high-throughput processes.
Applications include precision assembly, laser machining, additive manufacturing, wafer inspection, optical alignment, 3D printing, electronics manufacturing, imaging, and medical engineering.
