STEV Series Contactors Scale Across EV and Hybrid Vehicle Platforms
Sensata Technologies' STEV series is a line of high-voltage contactors for battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), ranging from passenger cars to Class 8 heavy-duty trucks. Contactors are high-voltage switches that open and close the electrical circuit throughout a vehicle's life, controlling safe power flow between the battery and critical systems such as the inverter and charger.
The STEV series scales across vehicle platforms—from plug-in hybrid passenger cars to battery electric pickup trucks and Class 8 heavy-duty trucks—allowing OEMs to standardize switching technology across multiple vehicle lines to simplify integration and reduce development time.
STEV contactors are customizable to meet specific application requirements and comply with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and OEM certification requirements for integration into global vehicle platforms.
Hermetic sealing and modular designs support continuous current carry ratings from 150 to 600 A with short-circuit withstand capability greater than 20 kA. Single or dual assembly configurations are available.
