Evonik's TROGAMID R is a transparent polyamide made from recycled production scrap generated during eyewear manufacturing. It is processed by Poliplastic SRL, which collects leftover shards of TROGAMID material from high-quality optical non-prescription sunglass lens manufacturers, then reprocesses them into granules for use in eyewear production.

TROGAMID R is part of the broader TROGAMID series of high-performance polyamide materials. The series also includes a TROGAMID eCO grade, produced with up to 100% bio-feedstock using a mass-balanced approach.

Lens and eyewear manufacturers can participate in the TROGAMID R sourcing program by supplying production scrap to Poliplastic SRL for reprocessing.

Features:

  • Scrap collected from optical non-prescription sunglass lens manufacturers
  • Reprocessed into granules by Poliplastic SRL
