Warrior Edge Aluminum Push-Pull MIG System With Craft Mode

ESAB's Warrior Edge Aluminum System is a heavy, industrial push-pull MIG welding system consisting of the Warrior Edge 500 DX power source, the RobustFeed Edge DX wire feeder, and the PP 350w water-cooled MIG gun.

The PP 350w gun has a 100% duty cycle at 350 A, is available in 20 and 35-ft (6 and 11-m) lengths, and features an in-line handle design with a 360-degree rotating gooseneck and an optional pistol grip.

The RobustFeed Edge DX includes synergic lines for 4xxx and 5xxx series aluminum across five Weld Modes: manual, synergic MIG, pulsed MIG, SPEED, and Craft Mode. Craft Mode uses two overlapping pulsed currents to control heat input, provides smoother metal transfer with less spatter, and produces a TIG-like bead appearance without excess gun manipulation.

Push-pull MIG systems maintain constant wire tension between two sets of drive rolls—one in the feeder and one in the gun—addressing common feeding problems including wire slippage, erratic arc performance, wire burning back to the contact tip, cold lap, and bird nesting at the feeder rolls.

When using a synergic WeldMode, operators adjust wire feed speed and trim control knobs while the system maintains arc characteristics automatically. An Arc Dynamics function, controlled by a single knob, adjusts the arc for faster travel speed, adds stability control, improves weld pool control, and enhances bead geometry.

The RobustFeed Edge DX includes TrueFlow digital gas control, which automatically prevents insufficient gas flow and optimizes flow during arc starts and welding.

The Warrior Edge 500 DX includes built-in connectivity and a lifetime subscription to InduSuite WeldCloud Fleet online software.
