Xport Star Vario Long Range Automatic Lubricator With LoRaWAN

Lubrication Engineers' Xport Star Vario Long Range is an automatic single-point lubricator that combines electromechanical lubrication with LoRaWAN wireless communication, operating automatically and independently of temperature and pressure for precise lubricant discharge to critical components.

The system consists of a reusable electromechanical drive, battery pack, and lubrication cartridge (LC) available in 60, 120, 250, or 500 cc, providing pressure buildup up to 109 psi (7.5 bar). It's designed for single-point lubrication of roller and sliding bearings, sliding guides, open gears, gear racks, spindles, shaft seals, chains, and electric motors. Users can select discharge periods from one to 26 weeks or up to 12 months, depending on LC size and application requirements.

With integrated LoRaWAN technology, the system can be monitored and controlled remotely via the perma Connect app and a LoRa Gateway, which supports up to 2,000 lubricators and receives data from up to 8 lubricators simultaneously within a radius of up to 1.2 mi (2 km), depending on site conditions.

The system uses standard radio technology with 128-bit AES end-to-end encryption, checks for new commands at least once per hour, and sends messages on every status change—including operating status, timestamp, date, ambient temperature, and fill level percentage.

Cartridge exchange is possible during running operation, supporting equipment availability without shutdown. A backlit LCD with push-button control and all-around visible LED indicators allow fast function checks and straightforward settings adjustment. Centralized monitoring via perma Connect provides a dashboard for managing multiple lubrication systems.

Compatible with all Star LC sizes—60, 120, 250, and 500 cc—the system can dispense grease up to NLGI 2. All sizes except the 500 cc unit can also be filled with oil; oil-filled units are identified by a red plug and require an oil-retaining valve. The system operates from -4° to 140°F (-20° to 60°C) with alkaline batteries and -40° to 140°F (-40° to 60°C) with lithium batteries. It meets IP65 and IP67 protection ratings and allows remote mounting up to 5.5 yd (5 m) from the lubrication point.
