MOVA SEAT Smart Wearable Improves Seated Posture and Movement Habits
MOVA SEAT from SpatialCortex is a single-sensor wearable designed to help desk-based workers improve posture consistency, increase movement, and reduce discomfort during seated tasks. Paired with an app-based interface, the device provides real-time posture and movement feedback to support healthier work habits across office, home, and hybrid environments.
The system tracks posture variability and sitting behavior throughout the day. When users remain in static positions or adopt poor posture, MOVA SEAT delivers subtle haptic prompts and displays actionable insights in the accompanying mobile app. These cues encourage small adjustments and regular breaks that support long-term musculoskeletal health.
Trials conducted with Serco, LNER, and Amey showed measurable improvements, including increased posture awareness, more frequent breaks, and ergonomic workstation adjustments. Findings included an 85% rise in posture awareness, a 16% increase in hourly breaks, and more than 80% of participants reporting positive workstation changes.
Designed to support individual users as well as organizational wellbeing programs, the system also offers anonymized data insights that can help health and safety teams identify trends, guide ergonomic initiatives, and address emerging risks proactively.
