TORNADO T1 XXLB-F Rotary Lobe Pump Maximizes Flow and Efficiency
Netzsch's TORNADO T1 XXLB-F Rotary Lobe Pump is designed for demanding, large-scale pumping applications requiring high flow and reliable performance. Delivering flow rates up to 6,160 gpm (1,400 m³/h) and differential pressures up to 174 psi (12 bar), the pump provides maximum throughput in a compact, modular, and service-friendly configuration.
Available in three sizes—XXLB 2F, 4F, and 6F—the pump delivers up to 35% more flow than earlier T1 models while maintaining high energy efficiency and dry installation flexibility. It's suited for handling diverse media in wastewater treatment, biogas, membrane filtration, pulp and paper, and refining operations.
The one-piece, flow-optimized housing and refined lobe geometry enhance volumetric efficiency and minimize shear on sensitive or solids-laden fluids. Wider lobe tips reduce backflow, while axial and optional radial wear plates made from abrasion- and chemical-resistant materials extend wear life in harsh conditions.

Full Service-In-Place (FSIP) access allows all wetted parts—including lobes, wear plates, and seals—to be replaced from the front without disconnecting piping. The modular design reduces the number of wear parts and accommodates various sealing options, such as single, double, and API-compliant cartridge seals.
The integrated Gearbox Security System (GSS) provides an air-gap barrier between the mechanical seal and gearbox to prevent fluid ingress, protecting gears and bearings from contamination. This separation enhances reliability and supports predictive maintenance practices.
Additional capabilities include self-priming suction without external vacuum devices, reversible flow direction, consistent performance under variable back pressures, and mobile configurations for flexible deployment. With up to 25% greater energy efficiency, the T1 XXLB-F offers an economical solution for a wide range of environmental, energy, chemical, and industrial applications.
