The Copilot Builder from Miller Electric is a collaborative robotic welding system that handles unique welding challenges with flexibility. The system eliminates the need for a fixed table setup by mounting essential components on a portable pallet that can be placed within the welding environment. Its modular design allows components such as the welding arm and wire drive to be detached and reconfigured to fit specific workspace layouts and product flow requirements. Optional cable lengths further extend flexibility, making it possible to weld in difficult-to-access environments while maintaining performance and efficiency.

The system includes technologies such as touch sensing and through-the-arc seam tracking. Touch sensing uses voltage detection to identify workpiece location and ensure weld accuracy, while seam tracking adjusts torch position in real time to maintain consistent quality. Multipass software enables operators to program, save, and recall weld passes, which can be combined into weld recipes for rooting, filling, and capping large joints. This is especially useful for joints too thick to weld effectively in a single pass.

By incorporating customizable features and a portable design, the system is adaptable to complex welding projects while maintaining efficiency and reliability.
