TruBend 3000 Series Press Brakes Cut Throughput, Save Energy
The TruBend 3000 Series Press Brakes from TRUMPF are bending machines for small and medium-sized companies to process a wide range of sheet metal components. The redesigned series reduces cycle times by ~40% compared to the previous 3000 models, and offers press forces ranging from 93 to 253.5 tons (84 to 230 t)and bending lengths from 6.5 to 13 ft (2 to 4 m).
To ensure consistent part quality, the machines feature an ACB Laser automatic angle measuring system consisting of a camera and laser sensors. The system checks the bending angle before each bend and automatically adjusts the press beam if the angle doesn't match the programmed value. This reduces scrap and ensures accuracy even with material fluctuations.
Programming is handled through TecZone Bend software, which allows offline programming while the machine is running or direct on-machine programming. Users can upload 2D or 3D models of components, and within seconds, the software displays the correct bending sequence, required tools, and collision monitoring.
The press brakes use a speed-controlled On-Demand Servo Drive that activates only during the bending process. This reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to hydraulic drives.
Operator safety is maintained through the BendGuard system, which uses cameras and matrix sensors to monitor the working area. If objects such as an operator's hands are detected, the machine shuts down immediately and can be reactivated with a foot switch.
The machines include digital interfaces to connect with other systems in a smart factory environment. Service support options include condition monitoring, remote assistance, and a service app that resolves up to 80% of issues without the need for an on-site visit.
