M-950iA Heavyweight Robot Handles 1K+ Pounds With Wide Motion Range

Sept. 4, 2025
FANUC America's M-950iA robot features a 9 ft (2,830 mm) reach and flexible serial-link design for tight workspaces and variable layouts.

FANUC's M-950iA heavyweight industrial robot handles payloads up to 1,102 lb (500 kg) with wide-range motion and precision. This serial-link robot fits between the M-900iB and M-1000iA families and offers more flexibility than standard parallel-link robots, making it work well for tight workspaces and variable layouts.

The robot features a high-rigidity design that can handle large and heavy workpieces, including automotive components, construction materials, and EV battery packs. Its 9 ft (3 m) reach combines with a wide motion range on the J3 axis, allowing the robot to flip over backwards. A high-strength wrist design enables heavy-duty applications, while an accuracy and stiffness enhancement option helps maintain precision when external forces are applied. This makes the robot suitable for processes such as friction stir welding, drilling, and riveting.

Features:

  • 6 controlled axes
  • 1,102 lb (500 kg) maximum payload
  • 9 ft (3 m) reach
  • Serial-link design with wide J3 axis motion range and ability to flip backwards
  • High-performance servomotor drive system with ±0.08 mm positioning repeatability
  • iPendant teaching device and R-30iB Plus controller connectivity
  • Accuracy and stiffness enhancement option for high-precision applications
