PACSystems RX3i CPS400 Safety Controller Enables SIL2 Designs
The PACSystems RX3i CPS400 Safety Controller enables Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL2) strategies for infrastructure, fire & gas, burner management, and other emergency shutdown systems. The controller provides 2,000 available I/O points, making it suitable for complex projects with evolving requirements.
With 64 MB of memory and a scalable digital architecture, the controller supports a wide range of applications. Built-in industrial communication protocols, including OPC UA, Ethernet Global Data (EGD), and Modbus TCP, allow peer-to-peer and host connectivity for complete operational visibility.
The unit features Secure Boot and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) technology for data integrity and protection against threats. Safety-certified function blocks and pre-configured templates help simplify system certification in line with IEC 61511 standards.
Available in simplex or redundant configurations, the RX3i CPS400 supports duplex communications using the black channel principle over EGD for standardized and reliable connectivity with PACSystems VersaMax SafetyNet I/O. The platform is IEC 61508 safety-certified for SIL2 applications.
Configuration is completed using the PAC Machine Edition development environment. This unified tool chain for programmable logic controllers, operator interfaces, and automation elements provides a user-friendly interface that simplifies system development and integration.
