CFE Tablet Counter Handles 200 Bottles/Minute

July 15, 2025
NJM's CFE tablet counter features modular counting with electromagnetic vibration for solid-dose pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.

The CFE tablet counter is a compact solid-dose counting and filling system for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications. Designed to minimize fill room size and operating costs, it integrates bottle handling and controls with counting technology to deliver up to 200 bottles/minute with 100% counting accuracy.

The CFE can handle coated and uncoated tablets, capsules, and softgels, filling round, oval, or rectangular bottles made of plastic or glass. It's available with three or four counting modules and six discharge channels, allowing users to start with three modules and add a fourth as production needs increase.

Its modular configuration and electromagnetic vibration simplify machine architecture and help reduce cost. A feedscrew infeed and intermittent-motion bottle handling system combines with a large bulk hopper, servo-driven feeder, multi-stage vibratory plates, and vibration feedback control to manage product separation and flow. Servo-driven bottle handling and vibratory dipping nozzles help maintain consistent filling and reduce nozzle blockage.

The integrated HMI provides single-point control for tablet counting and bottle handling. The PackML-compliant system supports 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, with configurable security settings, audit trails, and optional OPC readiness for OEE data transmission.

Bottle handling provides smooth infeed, rejection, and outfeed, with up to 40 ft (12 m) of uninterrupted conveyor available for integration with upstream and downstream equipment such as unscramblers, desiccant inserters, cappers, and metal detectors.
