    9155-900 Series Battery Connectors Enable Vertical Mating Without Contact Damage

    The 9155-900 Series is a line of 2.5 mm-pitch vertical-mating battery connectors designed to deliver secure and repeatable power connectivity in a range of electronics. They use a unique contact geometry that allows a battery pack, module, mating connector, or PCB to be fully engaged vertically without damaging the contacts and supports mating from any angle.

    The connectors feature a sweeping beam contact design with an anti-snag mechanism that protects the contacts during deflection and when static. They use gold-plated beryllium copper contacts and are rated for up to 5,000 mating cycles. Optional plastic locating bosses and solder tabs are available to enhance mechanical stability in high-shock and vibration environments.

    Each connector has a black, glass-filled Nylon 46 housing that is flame-retardant to UL94 V-0 standards and comes with 2 to 6 contacts. Contacts are plated with either 0.4 or 0.8 µm of selective gold-over-nickel, with the thicker plating intended for harsher environments. Pure tin tails are used for soldering.

    The series is rated for 500V ACRMS or DC equivalent, up to 3 A, and supports an operating temperature range of -40 to 257°F (-40 to 125°C). REACH and RoHS compliant, connectors are packaged in quantities of 800 in tape and reel for automated pick-and-place assembly.

    Target applications include handheld and portable electronics, battery docking stations, consumer and internet appliances with battery backup, and automotive systems that require removable modules or battery packs.
