Low Manganese Electrodes

Oct. 29, 2018
Welcote Metals' electrodes decrease vapor emissions by 60%.

Low manganese emission shield metal arc welding electrodes have a unique flux composition that supplies weld metal with significantly lower manganese content, decreasing manganese vapor emissions by as much as 60% in comparison to standard electrodes. Additionally, the line meets and exceeds the required mechanical properties and the requirements of international standards.

The product line is available in three AWS classifications: E-6011, E-6013, and E-7018.

  • E-6011 is an all-position AC/DC electrode for deep weld penetration for root passes for welding pipes and general structural welding.
  • E-6013 is an all-position, AC/DC electrode typically used for welding cleaner steel.
  • E-7018 H4R is a low-hydrogen, humidity-resistant, usually DC, all-position, versatile electrode used for many metals including structural, that has the capability of producing more uniform weld metal.

All are characterized by stable and smooth arc, easy slag detachability, and excellent weld bead appearance. Available in 3/32, 1/8, and 5/32 sizes, the electrodes are packaged in 10-lb., vacuum-sealed, plastic containers.

6011:

  • Suitable for root pass welding for pipes and general structure welding.
  • Coating Type: cellulosic Welding Current: AC, DC+
  • Welding Positions: All Hydrogen Content: <4 ml/100 gr acc. To AWS Method

6013:

  • The special weld metal composition of the Z-11-LMn provides the required mechanical properties and meets the demands of international standards. The electrode is characterized by stable and smooth arc, easy slag detachability, and excellent weld bead appearance. Welding of general low carbon steel.
  • Welding of general low carbon steel. Coating Type: Rutile Welding current: DC+/-, AC~50V
  • Welding Positions: All, Besides Vertical Down.

7018:

  • The Weldcote Metals LMn is a reliable and high-quality welding electrode, particularly suitable for welding high-strength, low-alloy steels.
  • Unique flux composition supplies weld metal with significantly lowered manganese content and therefore dramatically decreases the manganese emission in welding fume. This helps to meet the requirements of environmental regulation. Welding of general structural steels, fine-grained steels, boilerplates, pipe steels, and shipbuilding plates.
  • Applications: Welding of general structural steels, fine-grained steels, boilerplates, pipe steels, and shipbuilding plates.
  • Coating Type: Basic. Welding Current: DC+.
  • Welding Positions: All, Except Vertical Down. Hydorgen Content: <4 ml/100 gr acc. To AWS method.
