The long wait for Jibo, the animated Pixar-ish personal assistant, is over. Spawned from the mind of MIT professor and social robotics expert Cynthia Breazeal and funded (2241% over the goal) by an Indiegogo campaign, Jibo's certainly one of the more intriguing new robots, what with its ability to dance and follow you while you're talking to it. Along with cameras for taking pictures and streaming and playing video, it uses facial recognition and to identify different users, and the advanced AI allow it to develop a distinct personality and anticipate your needs. The software is expected to constantly evolve and make it even more personable, and with it, maybe our expectations of human-robot interaction will as well.
