New R256 Single Axis Controller & Driver

Carson City , NV —January 2006 — RMS Technologies, the Driving Force in Motion Control, is proud to introduce the new R256 Single Axis Controller & Driver. The new R256 features the same compact size as its predecessor (the R164), yet is capable of increased microstepping resolution and higher output current. The new R256 is capable of step resolutions ranging from 2x to 256x, operates from +12 to 40 VDC and its phase current ranges from 0.1 to 2.0 amps peak. The R256 features fully programmable ramps and speeds, software selectable hold and move currents, and the ability to store up to 16 different programs at once with the built-in 4 kBytes of memory. Plus, it can easily be programmed via a serial port and used as a stand alone unit with no PC connection required. The R256 joins the existing line of RMS drivers and controllers:
