Compact Color Sensors Recognize Three Independent Colors

Aug. 9, 2006
– Pepperl+Fuchs introduces Dura-Vue™ DF12 series color sensors. These sensors can be taught to recognize three independent colors with a single sensor. Programming is quick and easy via a potentiometer setting at the sensor, or by a remote teach signal from a PLC. The Dura-Vue DF12 series features a harsh-duty, metal-framed housing with swivel connector ideal for sorting, positioning, and quality control in packaging and converting applications. Each of the sensors three channels can be taught to detect even minute color variations, with varying degrees of tolerance as selected by the user. Each output simplifies wiring by automatically sinking or sourcing current based on its connected load. • Sensor range - 11 mm ± 2 mm • Light source - 3 leds (r,g,b) • Light spot representation - 1 mm x 3 mm • Angle deviation - max. ± 3° • Approvals - ce, culus • Light type - visible green/red/blue, modulated light • MTTFd - 730 a • Mission Time - (TM) 20 a • Diagnostic Coverage - (DC) 60 % • Operating display - green LED, statically lit Power on , Undervoltage indicator: Green LED, pulsing (approx. 0.8 Hz) , short-circuit : LED • green flashing (approx. 4 Hz) • Function display - 2 LEDs yellow, light up in case of detection • Teach-In indication - Teach-In channel: LED green/yellow equiphase flashing; 2,5 Hz .
