Easy to Clean Tramp Iron Grate-in-Housings incorporate powerful Erium Ceramic or Xtreme Rare Earth magnet material to remove ferrous contamination and reduce the traditional magnet cleaning cycle to a simple push-pull operation.

With the single-skinned tube design, the iron is removed with a stainless steel split ring sandwiched between two floating wipers. As the individual banks cycle tramp iron, it is stripped from the tubes outside the product zone. The tramp metal is then discharged through a small chute at the front of the housing.

Eriez manufactures standard grate housings but offers custom designs to fit companies' specific installation requirements. Typical units include a rectangular housing that holds multiple rows of powerful tube magnets that attract and hold fine ferrous contamination as material cascades around the magnets. Optional features include adapters to transition product flow into the grate housing, additional magnet rows for specific separation efficiency requirements, and vibrators to help products flow quickly through the grate housing.
