Pepperl+Fuchs introduces ML8 Series Photoelectric Sensors. These miniature sensors (31mm x 11mm x 23mm) feature tamper-proof construction to eliminate setting adjustments by unauthorized users. They feature high ambient light immunity (40 klux) and provide a sensing range up to 2.5 meters making them ideal for conveyor applications, and particularly “over-sidewall” sensing. High intensity LEDs provide sensor output status and are visible from the front and rear of the sensor. Available sensing modes include diffused and polarized retro-reflective. Slotted mounting holes enable mounting versatility and a visible red LED transmitter facilitates ease of alignment. These sensors are available with integral M8 or pig-tailed M12 connectors. • Detection range - 15 ... 30 mm • Light source - LED, red • Black/White difference (6 %/90 %) - < 10 % • Approvals - CE, cULus Listed 57M3 (Only in association with UL Class 2 power supply; Type 1 enclosure) • Reference target - standard black, 100 mm x 100 mm • Light type - red, modulated light • Diameter of the light spot -3 light spots, 12 mm apart (outer spot to outer spot), spotsize 3.5 mm at a distance of 30 mm • Ambient light limit - EN 60947-5-2 • Function display - 2 LEDs yellow, light up in case of detection • Operating voltage - UB 10 ... 30 V DC , class 2 • Ripple - max. 10 % • No-load supply current - I0 < 20 mA • Switching type - light ON • Signal output - 1 PNP output, short-circuit proof, protected from reverse polarity, open collector • Switching voltage - max. 30 V DC • Switching current - max. 100 mA • Voltage drop - Ud ? 1.5 V DC • Response time - 1 ms • Standards - EN 60947-5-2 • Standards 2 - UL 508 • Ambient temperature - -20 ... 60 °C (253 ... 333 K) • Storage temperature - -40 ... 70 °C (233 ... 343 K)
