Introduces Non-Metallic Electrical Box Extender/Insulator To Correct Setbacks and Insulate Devices

March 15, 2007
Bridgeport Fittings, Inc., has introduced a new non-metallic electrical box extender/insulator to correct setbacks and insulate devices. With an easy-to-install design, the new extender eliminates the need to align device screws with extender holes and then try to find holes in the box. Continuous, smooth, non-metallic side walls enclose devices completely creating an insulating barrier between the device and the metal box. The extender does not interfere with wiring so no trimming is required and the device mounts completely flush with the wall. Bridgeport’s new solutions fit most metallic or non-metallic electrical boxes and easily accommodate GFCIs. The BXE-100 extender, for a single device box, and the BXE-200, for use with a two-device 4” square box, correct up to 1” setbacks. The BXE-300 corrects up to 5/8” setbacks with a 4” octagonal or round box. The extender/insulator from Bridgeport fulfills UL File E216710 requirements and complies with NEC Article 314.20. Bridgeport Fittings is a leading supplier of quality fittings to the industrial, commercial and residential channels of the electrical industry.
