Introducing the KEYENCE MD-V9900 series, a high-speed, high-quality YVO4 laser marker that has the ability to mark not only in the X and Y direction, but also in the Z direction. This unique 3-axis motion allows for a multitude of advantages, such as a 42-mm variable focal length, a distortion-free 300 x 300 mm marking area, and the ability to clearly mark on difficult shapes (cylinders, cones, inclined planes).

The MD-V9000 also offers a Dual End Pumping Cavity and unprecedented power stability, both of which contribute to marking quality and laser life. The 3-axis motion of the MD-V allows for outstanding visibility on deformed or curved surfaces. You can mark on inclines, cylinders, or circular cones at speeds up to 12,000mm/s without compromising character clarity.

With the MD-V’s variable focal length, maximum spot position can be set at any focal length within a 42 mm range. This range of focal length significantly reduces installation time and cost by eliminating the need for a mechanical stage that adjusts during product changeovers, or when it is necessary to mark products of varying heights.

The 300 x 300-mm wide marking area of the MD-V is the largest in its class. Marking in large areas often requires moving a target work piece using an X-Y stage, or switching the lens on a conventional laser to create a wide marking area. Using an X-Y stage increases integration costs and time, and also decreases product throughput. A wide area lens can help with these problems; however, characters are often displaced or blurred at the edge of the marking area.

The MD-V series utilizes a special lens system along with its unique 3-axis control to create this highly accurate 300 x 300-mm wide marking area, eliminating the need for mechanical adjustment while maintaining character integrity.

The MD-V series comes equipped with the newly developed Dual End Pumping Cavity (DEPC). This new technology improves the optical exchange efficiency to double that of conventional markers. The higher efficiency means that the diode has to use less current to generate equivalent power, thus reducing energy consumption while increasing the diode’s life (3 times longer than conventional markers).
