Available immediately from MicroPower Direct, the SRL16A-12W is a point of load switching regulator in a miniature SMT package. This regulator is specifically designed to provide the miniature size, high output current, tight regulation and control/protection circuits required by distributed power architectures for industrial, networking and telecommunications equipment. The SRL16A-12W provides 16A output current and operates over a wide input range of 6 to 14 VDC.
The output is user adjustable (by the simple addition of an external resistor) over a range of 0.75 to 5.0 VDC. Standard features include efficiency as high as 95%, 0.5% maximum line/load regulation, very low noise operation and a fast transient response time. The SRL16A-12W includes thermal, overload and short circuit protection circuits as well as a remote control. Multiple units may be sequenced to control the output timing for applications that require power busses to be turned on in a certain order. It is approved to EN 60950 and the MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) is 980 hours.
The SRL16A-12W is fabricated on a miniature surface mount PC board with an industry standard footprint. It is specified for operation over the wide industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
