With model WB61 sensor specialist ASM provides a new sensor with 4 m measuring length combining a compact housing with high safety standards. Like all tape extension sensors the WB61 is specially designed for use in mobile applications, but also for other demanding measurement tasks. Tape extension sensors work best where multiple pulleys are required. Their stainless steel measuring tape is not liable to break when using several pulleys and resistant to fluctuating temperatures. Therefore this product line corresponds to the strict safety requirements for cranes.
The new model WB61 is made of a high quality plastic housing. This more economical construction method fits the needs of cost competitive applications while still maintaining the required IP67 protection rating. With a measuring length of 4 m the WB61 is very compact. Like the larger sensors, it provides three analog and three digital outputs (SSI, CANopen, CAN SAE J1939), the option of redundant design and a linearity of ±0.10%. The WB61 tape sensor is ideally suited for installation on cranes, excavators, forklifts, hoists and lifting equipment. The ASM product range includes Posiwire® cable extension position sensors, Positape® tape extension position sensors, Posichron® magnetostrictive position sensors, Posirot® magnetic angle sensors, Positilt® MEMS inclinometers and Posimag® magnetic encoders.
