NKK Switches introduces two new series of illuminated toggle switches designed for front panel interfaces and handheld devices. Completing the spectrum of illuminated toggle families offered by NKK, the G series ultra-miniature and the B series subminiature illuminated toggles clearly indicate circuit status. Both the G series of ultra miniature illuminated toggles and the B series of subminiature illuminated toggles are process compatible. Their extremely lightweight makes them an ideal choice for front panel or handheld devices. The toggle actuators of both the B series and G series are manufactured of a clear polyamide, allowing the LED color to fully illuminate through the entire actuator with an incredibly bright and jeweled appearance. The B series of subminiature toggles not only features a fully illuminated toggle, but the patent-pending bushing is fully illuminated as well. These features allow for highly visible status indication. Available LED choices include red, green, amber and bicolor red/green illumination. The height and width of the ultra-miniature G series is .276” and the depth is .177”. The G switch’s illuminated toggle actuator is .150” in length. The subminiature B series height and width is .516” and depth is .346”. The B switch’s illuminated toggle is .248” in length with the illuminated bushing measuring .106” high. Applications requiring high-density mounting are further facilitated with the standard .100” X 100” PC terminal spacing. Rated at 0.4VA @ 28V AC/DC maximum, both the B series and G series are available in single pole maintained circuit options of ON-ON and ON-OFF-ON. These devices can be specified in straight PC, right angle or vertical mount terminations. The G series and B series of fully illuminated toggles feature NKK’s award-winning STC (sliding twin crossbar) contact mechanism. This contact mechanism ensures positive and smooth detent, increased contact stability and unequalled logic-level reliability. Both series have a mechanical life rating of 100,000 operations minimum. The B series has an electrical life rating of 50,000 operations minimum and the G series electrical life is rated at 100,000 operations minimum.
