Metallic Switches Offer Innovative Mounting solution

Dec. 20, 2006
Schurter is pleased to announce the addition of a new “snap-in” mounting technology to its existing range of metal line switches, series MSM. The new MSM snap-in switches contain the same characteristics as their screw mount counterparts, the only difference being in the assembly of the switch to the equipment. The switches with snap-in technology are force fitted into the front panel from the front side of the equipment enabling quick and efficient assembly in buildings, controllers or equipment with limited or no access from the rear. The MSM snap-in switch is a cost savings alternative, due to the elimination of assembly tools and other hardware needed for placement. It is available for mounting in a 22 mm diameter panel opening with panel thicknesses of 1.5 and 2.0 mm. Other mounting diameters up to 30 mm with panel thicknesses up to 3.0 mm are available on request. The complete series provides maximum switching power over a voltage range of 5 V DC to 250 V AC and a current range of 0.1 – 10 A.The MSM snap-in switch is not recommended for outdoor applications. For these types of applications, Schurter recommends its family of Piezo switches, also available in snap-in mounting. Snap-in metal switches are ideal for placement in narrow spaces, where maximum actuation with minimum mounting space can be achieved. Such applications include interior fittings, hollow sections used in buildings or equipment with limited space inside. Lettering, ring and point illumination options are available for applications where visual status indication is desired. Pricing for the MSM snap-in starts at about $10.00 at 100 piece quantities. Delivery is stock to 8 weeks.• Contact Material : silver • Switching Voltage max.
