Mountz, Inc., a specialist in the design and manufacture of torque control products, announces the next generation of the TorqueLab, the LTT-Series, a new class of torque analyzers that offers portability, expandability and documentation control. Meeting the demands to test multiple torque ranges for various torque tools used in production, maintenance and calibration labs, the LTT features the new "EZ-Plug & Play" technology, which is an auto-recognition system with Mountz torque sensors. The LTT torque analyzer is designed for torque calibration, joint testing, auditing or for force and load measurement or verification of load cells. The "EZ-Plug & Play” feature of the LTT facilitates and expedites the process of setting up and running tool tests, as well as the transfer, analysis and storage of test data for ISO/SPC documentation purposes. The combined hard-software manufacturing solution offers tool testing, graphing capabilities and a graphical menu for easy navigation. As an advanced torque controlling, monitoring and documentation solution, LTT enables operators and engineers to ensure product quality, safety and reliability promptly in a variety of manufacturing environments. The LTT torque tester can calibrate hand screwdrivers, pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and power tools to avoid over tightening problems such as stripped threads and under tightening problems, which can increase liability and risk of recall. In manufacturing environments, tool test data are commonly shared between various departments, typically Research & Development, Production, Cal Lab and Quality Control. The LTT solution allows for easy data sharing. After the readings have been recorded, the data points are easily uploaded from the device's flash memory to a PC through a USB interface. Once uploaded, the test data can be shared with other users over the regular computer network. Torque specifications or tools being used in production can thus be easily created, evaluated or confirmed. Dynamic rundowns can be graphed for joint analysis.Companies that have multiple tools that need to be tested, the LTT offers a time saving, efficient means to rapidly speed up the process with two key accessories - Bar Code Reader and Multiplexer. For companies that require multiple tools to be tested and are using several torque sensors, the Bar Code Reader and the Multiplexer are the ideal package for torque testing. This combination provides a flexible, time saving solution that reduces the potential for operator error. The Multiplexer is an optional accessory for the LTT. It allows users to connect 1-4 transducers to the torque analyzer simultaneously. The device eliminates the need to plug and unplug torque sensors. The LTT powers the Multiplexer so no additional power source is required. The Bar Code Reader is an optional accessory that can be utilized with LTT. This option is for operators that want the ability to scan bar code labels on torque tools and start “Tool Test” settings automatically for each individual tool without the need to toggle through the menu to find each Tool Test. An operator can set-up a variety of tools and the testing parameters on a PC. Each tool is bar-coded and a unique tool test is created for each tool. Once the tool tests are loaded into the torque tester, the operator can just scan the torque tool and the “Tool Test” mode will automatically appear in the display and eliminates the need to search for the tool test for each tool. The readings from each tool test is stored on the LTT and can be downloaded to the company’s network for archiving and meeting the company’s ISO procedures. This LTT feature accompanied with the Bar Code Reader and Multiplexer helps the quality department by controlling their torque process for the assembly and production operations while saving numerous hours on their data collection efforts and reduces set-up time for tool testing. The LTT features a built-in transducer and supports most external torque, force and load sensors. Torque and angle data is displayed simultaneously when used with torque and angle transducers, up to 8000 RPM for angle measurement. The torque analyzer is built with a high capacity Li-Ion battery for long life before needing to be recharged. It also features and buzzer and “Go / No Go” LEDs that illuminate when high or low setting is achieved.Using a quality torque analyzer has become increasingly important for many companies to ensure that proper torque is being applied. Testing torque is literally a science and not something that can be left to chance.
