Shurite Systems, a division of Prime Technology, LLC of North Branford, CT, introduces theDC power management system, a full scale DC management system that combines charging andmonitoring functions for battery powered applications. The accuracy of the power system iscrucial for key industries, such as emergency medical carts, where precise charging informationis of the utmost importance. The DC Power Monitor provides crucial power source information required in a mobile workingand computing environment, thus enhancing the marketability of DC equipment. The monitor iscapable of completing diagnostics for troubleshooting and evaluating warranty claims as well asautomatically scheduling power supply and battery maintenance. Additionally, the monitor iscapable of creating event log spreadsheets and charge/discharge curves. Event logs are usefulfor both keeping track of the battery system history and making changes in the product’s use inorder to extend and maintain proper operation. The system is designed to incorporate specificcurves for battery manufacturers and chemistry which helps to prolong the duration of thebattery system by accurately predicting the life of the battery and charge time. Conveniently, thesystem can be adapted to be used with any power platform. The DC Charger is a 10 or 20 Amp, 3 stage, multi-profile, precision, multi-chemistry batterycharger that utilizes a microprocessor. The charger provides full communication with theaforementioned DC Power Monitor and the system allows the end user to receive data forevaluation via a USB port. A computer program is supplied to the end user specifically for thisfunction. The DC Charger has built in A/D Inputs that monitor and control battery chargingvoltage and current, while also compensating for load current during charge. Furthermore, thecharger has a driver that will support the standard indicator/switch functions of a customerprovided fuel board. The algorithms used to charge the batteries can be uniquely designed for thespecific chemistry as well as each manufacturer’s features. This option to fully customize theunit allows for complete optimization of the charging system. The combination of the DC Power Monitor and Charger provides a robust and unique system, capable of full battery power charging, management, and data capture/logging. The system isdesigned to operate as a single source solution for DC power management and is UL60601approved for all medical applications.• AC POWER INPUT: • Voltage Range 90-132VAC • Input Current 3.2A Max • Frequency Range 47-63 Hz • Power Factor 0.96 to 0.98 • OUTPUT: • Voltage Range 3-14.7VDC, Variable • Current Range, Battery 0-10ADC, Variable • Current Range, Load 0-10ADC, Variable • Ripple/Noise Less than 50mVp-p, typical • Short Circuit Protection Indefinite • ENVIRONMENTAL: • Operating Temperature 10 - 40ºC with 30CFM fan • Storage Temperature 0 - 50ºC • PHYSICAL: • Size 9"W x 5"L x 2"H • Weight 2.5 lbs • DC POWER INPUT: • Voltage 5VDC Nominal • Input Current (typical) 5mA • DISPLAY: • 17-LED gauge for battery charge level, 2 Power Source LED’s, 2 Charge Status LED’s • and 2 System Status LED’s • ENVIRONMENTAL: • Operating Temperature 10 - 40ºC • Storage Temperature 0 - 50ºC • PHYSICAL: • Size 3"W x 4-1/8"L x 1/8"H • Weight < 1 lb
