Featuring a rugged wire-wound design, the BA Series high power resistors are ideal for dynamic braking, motor starting, and power control applications. Other uses include inverter and power conversion applications. The resistors' aluminum housing maintains high stability during operation and permits secure mounting to chassis surfaces. Furthermore, the BA Series features insulated wire terminals, which eliminates the potential for arcing that can occur with conventional approaches.
Available in 3 extrusion forms, the heat sinkable series resistors feature power ratings of 500 to 1,000 W.
- Form 1 has a power rating of 500 W and is 6 x 3 x 1 in. (160 x 84 x 30 mm) with fins.
- Form 2 has a power rating of 700 W and is 13 x 4 x 1 in. (320 x 100 x 30 mm) without fins.
- Form 3 has a power rating of 1,000 W and is 10 x 5 x 2 in. (266 x 127 x 54 mm) without fins.
Resistance values range from 0.5 to 18K ohms. Multiple opportunities for customization are available. Options include scalable lengths, custom leads, and thermal cut-off, where an internal thermal switch will shut the resistor off in the event of an overload.
