Cortec's MCI-2018 X V/O is a thixotropic, 100% silane water repellent formulated specifically for these surfaces, designed to minimize drips and runoff during application while maximizing penetration into the concrete matrix.

The anti-sag properties of MCI-2018 X V/O allow it to stay in place on vertical and overhead surfaces long enough to absorb into the concrete rather than running off—a key limitation of standard liquid silane treatments on non-horizontal substrates. It can be applied using conventional spray equipment. MCI-2018 X V/O functions as a standalone water repellent or in combination with a surface-applied corrosion inhibitor (SACI). When paired with a SACI, the silane layer lines the concrete matrix with a hydrophobic barrier that maintains breathability while helping to sustain the corrosion inhibitor's protection period at maximum concentration. It is also compatible with other water repellents, sealers, and membranes used on horizontal surfaces as part of a broader protection system.
