In recent years, refining plants,petrochemical plants and chemical plants have been required to increase capacity, but have been provided with very few upgrades to existing equipment to accommodate increased capacity requirements. This has placed increased stress and strain on plant systems and operating units. For example, higher pulsating pressures and heavy mechanically induced vibrations are translating to all areas of processing equipment, especially pressure instrumentation.
