Mitigating the Expense of Energy Consumption and Explosion Proof Compliant Lighting
Maintaining regulatory compliance when illuminating work areas
designated as hazardous locations represents a challenging and often
expensive endeavor. The selection of compliant equipment and the
institution of safe practices while sensible and mandatory, has to date
been a weak area of return on investment outside of accident and damages
avoidance. Exacerbating this issue is the fact that energy consumption
in industrial and commercial operations accounts for a significant
portion of overall operating expenses, while compliant equipment is
typically designed and engineered with approval and compliance as
primary goals and efficiency given far less importance.
