HOW TO CALCULATE THE LIFESPAN OF A LINEAR MOTION SYSTEM
Anytime motion occurs to a linear motion system, stresses are created
between therolling elements and their corresponding contact surfaces.
Over time, these stresses can causewear or damage to these surfaces
known as “flaking” (material fatigue). A common methodused to determine
the operational life of a linear motion system is to measure the total
distancetraveled required to create “flaking”.
