CRC introduces our new Weld Check™ System, a 3-step system to detect weld defects quickly and without the use of expensive equipment. Many cracks in engineering materials can be deep, in spite of having a very small opening width on the surface, and can cause very serious defects. CRC’s 3-step Weld Check™ System is an extension of the visual inspection method and will clearly show these defects in a few minutes.
Clean Weld Surface: Weld Check™ Weld Cleaner & Penetrant Remover easily removes dirt and contaminants from surface to be analyzed and will remove the penetrant and developer post-inspection to restore the metal back to its original condition. Apply Penetrant: Weld Check™ Penetrant is a red colored liquid penetrant for the non-destructive testing of surfaces and structures. It easily penetrates tiny openings. You can remove excess penetrant with a cloth dampened with Weld Check™ Cleaner & Penetrant Remover (Do not spray directly on weld.) Apply Developer: Leave Weld Check™ Developer on surface for 5 to 15 minutes. This process clearly shows defects which will appear red in color.
This quick, economical process takes only minutes but will detect cracks, lack of fusion and open cavities in welded parts, cracks and cavities caused by metal fatigue and cutting operations, porosity or leaks in pipes, tanks, boilers and heat exchangers, discontinuities, laps, folds and cracks in castings, forgings and ceramics. CRC Weld Check™ Weld Cleaner & Penetrant Remover (16 oz aerosol Part #03108), CRC Weld Check™ Penetrant (16 oz aerosol Part #03106) and CRC Weld Check™ Developer (16 oz aerosol Part #03107) all come with an S.D.[L.]™, a current Safety Data Label, printed on the reverse side of the product label. It provides instant access to current safety information and helps comply with OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200
