New “Ketone Kops” gas detector that offer protection from dangerous concentrations of VOC solvents – as methyl amyl ketone, methyl ethyl ketone and the like – have been introduced by Minneapolis- based Sensor Electronics.     Ketones are both toxic and explosive, meaning a continuing danger in many industrial operations – spray booths, research labs, plastics, dyes, pharmaceuticals, food processing, explosives.    “Ketone Kop” continually monitors gas levels in the protected area, flashing an alarm the instant concentrations reach a danger point.

The “Ketone Kop” can team with a dedicated transmitter to show actual gas levels on a digital readout panel.  Color-coded LED’s glow green/amber/red to reflect changing gas concentrations.  At red the transmitter can turn on alarm lights and sirens, even fans to flood the area with outside air.   An optional controller can link the “Ketone Kop” into an existing security network, Modbus 485, Ethernet, HART, SCADA or the internet.    The “Ketone Kop” security package plugs into any convenient 120-volt outlet, goes right to work without fussy calibration or run-in.
