Henkel Corporation has introduced Loctite® SF7900(TM) Ceramic Shield for Welding, a silicone-free sprayable protective coating that prevents spatter adhesion on MIG/MAG welding equipment for up to 8 hours with just one application. The new ceramic coating increases welding productivity by shielding contact tips, welding nozzles, shrouds and jigs from spatter, thereby eliminating the downtime normally required for equipment cleaning.
Loctite® SF7900(TM) Ceramic Shield for Welding is designed for use on manual and automatic MIG/MAG welding, laser/plasma cutting and spot welding equipment. By delivering both physical and thermal protection, Loctite® SF7900(TM) helps increase the service life of welding equipment by 4 to 5 times, and reduces the cost of consumables by up to 70 percent.
The coating sprays on easily and dries in seconds, allowing continuous, uninterrupted welding throughout an 8-hour shift. By protecting the shroud from spatter and allowing uninterrupted gas flow, the coating helps increase the quality of the weld seam. No chemical cleaners or cleaning equipment is required as weld spatter can be swept up with a soft brush.
Loctite® SF7900(TM) can also be used to protect power cables, sensors, metal components, and the jaws of spot welding systems for up to one week.
