The Lapp Group's newly developed ÖLFLEX® VFD XL creates extremely robust power connections between VFDs and motors, delivering mechanical and electrical properties beyond those offered by standard AWG motor cables.  

The ÖLFLEX VFD XL has been designed to perform in harsh conditions. It meets UL Oil Resistance I and II standards. It also thrives in low temperatures and has passed UL -25C Cold Impact and -40C Cold Bend tests, while the maximum continuous use temperature is 90C. Designed with Class 5 conductor stranding, which meets both European and North American standards, ÖLFLEX VFD XL has a 14% or larger CMA than a comparable AWG cable which contributes to a low DC resistance, making ÖLFLEX VFD XL well suited to long cable runs. John Gavilanes, Director of Engineering, reports, "Nowadays, variable frequency drives often serve in precision process control applications, and when systems fail, they can cause hours or even days of lost productivity. ÖLFLEX VFD XL uses a cross-linked polyethylene insulation which enhances electrical properties and allows the cable to withstand voltage spikes, inrush currents and other electrical disruptions that damage motor cables. Recommended applications include any VFD drive and motor connections for web presses, HVAC systems, conveyors and many other industrial machines and systems. ÖLFLEX® VFD XL has UL and CSA TC approvals.
