Unveiling a new family of energy efficient lighting that combines high power with an extra long-lasting life, MaxLite  is introducing Induction Surface Mount and Flood Light Luminaires, which are ideal for indoor and outdoor commercial and industrial lighting applications, and backed by MaxLite’s first 10-year limited warranty.   “Our Induction family of luminaires showcases MaxLite’s ability to harness another innovative lighting technology for a broad range of applications within the commercial and industrial markets,” explained Pat Treadway, Director of Product Marketing. “These new fixtures offer outstanding light output, a long 100,000 hour life, and in keeping with our value engineering approach, are very well priced.”   Induction technology is a fluorescent lighting method using a generator to send high frequency waves into the lamp to induce the phosphors of the lamp to glow, emitting UV radiation that in turn is converted into visible white light by the phosphor coating on the bulb. The generator produces a radio frequency magnetic field to excite the mercury. With no electrodes, the lamp lasts longer – in fact, up to 100,000 hours, with the lamp producing 70 percent of its original light output at 60,000 hours. This technology is different from traditional fluorescent lamps, which use an electronic or magnetic ballast to excite and start the phosphor glow.

Available in 40- and 80-watt models, the Induction Surface Mount fixtures are constructed with a fabricated aluminum body and a shatter- and UV-resistant polycarbonate lens that are sealed to prevent dirt ingress and bugs. Designed for mounting to electrical boxes or directly to surfaces in parking garages, retail and commercial building canopies and covered walkways, the fixtures offer high intensity, high temperature and a UV-resistant PC cover while using a circular-shaped induction light source.

The 40-watt Induction Surface Mount replaces up to a 175-watt metal halide fixture while delivering 2800 lumens and an efficacy of 70 lumens per watt at a 5000K-color temperature. The 80-watt Surface Mount replaces up to a 250-watt metal halide fixture while delivering 6400 lumens and an efficacy of 80 lumens per watt at a 5000K-color temperature. The IP43-rated (protected against large solid objects and sprays of water) luminaires are engineered with a self-contained generator and operate maintenance-free on 120-volt through 277-volt electrical systems for a long potential life of 100,000 hours. FCC-, and UL- and cUL-listed for indoor damp locations, the Induction Surface Mount luminaire is 15 inches long and 8 inches wide.

The 150-watt Induction Flood Light Luminaire replaces all metal halide flood light fixtures up to 320 watts and is ideal for illuminating building exteriors, truck bays and docks, construction and storage sites, rail yards, marinas and many other industrial applications. The Flood Light is constructed with a durable and corrosion resistant, die-cast aluminum alloy body and a high-quality mirror surface aluminum reflector with tempered glass lens for an excellent reflection effect. The Flood Light features high temperature-resistant silicon rubber airtight rings, as well as a design separating the generator from the tubular induction light source to effectively extend the service life of both components.

While delivering 12,000 lumens with an efficacy of 80 lumens per watt, the 150-watt Induction Flood Light Luminaire has a 5000K-color temperature. Engineered with a self-contained generator, the luminaire operates on 120-volt through 277-volt electrical systems, are IP65-rated (protected against dirt ingress and limited water), and maintenance free with a long potential life of 100,000 hours. FCC-, and UL- and cUL-listed for exterior applications, MaxLite’s Flood Light Luminaire are 23.23 inches tall, 24.96 inches wide and 7.87 inches deep.
