Setra Systems, Inc. has introduced Model 209 variable capacitance pressure transducers, expressly designed for extreme environmental OEM and industrial grade environments, and particularly, applications in which cost may be a primary concern. 

The Model 209 is available in pressure ranges from 1 to 10,000 psig, with choice of gauge, sealed gauge, or vacuum pressure, and choice of 4-20 mA; 0.5 to 5.5 VDC; 1 to 6 VDC; or 0.5 to 4.5 VDC output, with ±0.25% full-scale accuracy across all ranges, as well as various pressure and electrical connector types to suit exact user requirements. Units operate from a standard unregulated DC power source for lower overall operating costs. An optional high overpressure option is also available at 50 to 1500 PSI ranges, allowing for even greater transducer performance survivability in applications where overpressure may be a concern. The transducers operate over a wide temperature band of -40 to +85°C (-40 to +185°F) for stable output performance. With a totally self-contained electronics package, the simple design of the Model 209 incorporates a corrosion resistant 17-4 PH stainless steel capacitance sensing element, coupled with a high-level output IC-based circuit, with a center mount rigid stainless steel electrode originating from the variable capacitor.

Its durable construction ensures repeatable measurement accuracy and long-term stability. The transducers are also free of seals or “O” rings, eliminating potential for leakage and ensuring greater media compatibility with a wide range of gases and liquids, while further expanding the potential scope of applications served by a single transducer. The elimination of brazed joints further alleviates corrosion problems. In addition, the pressure transducers are packaged in compact, lightweight and corrosion-resistant all-welded and crimped stainless steel/Valox housings, allowing for optimal systems compatibility. 

The Model 209 transducer is manufactured in-house at Setra Systems ISO9001 certified facility in Boxborough, Massachusetts, USA, where vertically integrated manufacturing processes allow for full product quality control, from component through to finished product. Units are CE marked and RoHS compliant. Quantities of the Model 209 are available in standard configurations for customer shipment within just three to five business days.
