Electri-Flex Company has expanded their line of halogen-free liquid-tight flexible electrical conduit by introducing an EMI/RFI shielded version. Part of the Shield-Flex™ line, Types HFSLA™, HFEMS™ and HFEMCS™ provide exceptional shielding effectiveness from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) coupled with the halogen-free jacketing. Halogen-free conduits provide a low-smoke, low-flame spread, zero-halogen product that is ideal for field installation in confined, public areas such as subways, tunnels, and other enclosed areas. This jacketing material virtually eliminates the release of acidic gases found in PVC products. These conduits carry a flammability rating of UL 94-VO.

The halogen-free line of flexible electrical conduits also includes the following:
  • Type ATX incorporates a halogen-free Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) jacket, which carries a flammability rating of UL 94-HB and is virtually unaffected by temperature extremes.
  • Type CEA is ideal for confined spaces in -40°C to 80°C conditions and is constructed with a specially formulated polyurethane jacket that is flame retardant with low smoke characteristics, over a flexible steel inner core. Carries a flammability rating of UL 94-VO.
  • Type ACEA is a lightweight version offering a flexible aluminum inner core coupled with the halogen-free jacketing. Carries a flammability rating of UL 94-VO.
  • Type ZHLA uses the same jacketing and performs under the same temperatures as CEA, but conforms to UL 360 and carries a UL Listing. Carries a flammability rating of UL 94-VO.
  • The Corrlok® line of nylon corrugated conduits contains four types of UL recognized, halogen-free flexible conduits:
  • Type CL is a standard weight conduit providing exceptional mechanical strength and protection.
  • Type CLL is a lightweight conduit offers improved flexibility.
  • Type CLFR is a low fire hazard version with excellent self-extinguishing characteristics and generates minimal smoke and toxic gas in fire situations. Carries a flammability rating of UL 94-VO.
  • Type CLR, a lightweight robotics version, is extremely flexible and is intended for applications requiring continuous, repeated flexing motion.
