Barbed fittings for use with plastic and rubber tubing and reinforced hose are available from NewAge Industries in five materials. Thermobarb fittings offer simple connections – just push the fitting into the tubing and secure it with a clamp. Multiple barbs provide a tight fit with the tubing’s I.D. Sizes range from 1/8” through 1” tubing I.D. in styles that include tees, wyes, reducers, connectors, adapters and nipples. Pinch clamps and check valves are also stocked, as well as clamps and other fittings such as push-to-connect, compression, and cam operated couplings.

High Flow Direct Mount Valve

Parker Fluid Control Division offers the High Flow direct mount NAMUR solenoid valve. The product line provides cost-effective solutions for general-purpose valve actuator applications, including water and sewage, pulp and paper, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, powder-dosing machines, powder transportation, process industry, and twin-tower air dryers. Compact in its design, the High Flow valve features a NAMUR mounting pattern and high-flow rates from 1.2 to 3.0 Cv. A spring return allows fail-safe operation in the event of a power loss, and a screened exhaust nut protects valve function during outdoor use. Additionally, the O-ring seal design increases sealing force at higher pressures and offers less breakaway resistance at lower pressures. Enjoying a long life expectancy of up to 5 million cycles, the High Flow valve has the potential to reduce maintenance needs.

The High Flow NAMUR valve offers a conversion plate for 3/2, 5/2 operation. The product is built with an anodized aluminum body and a stainless steel spool, as well as internal parts made of brass. It is designed for direct mounting in any position on a NAMUR interface. As well, the High-Flow NAMUR Valve operates from a pressure range of 30 – 150 psi. These rugged valves are offered with class F DIN and Class H hazardous location coils. The valve operates at fluid temperature ranging from 32º – 122º F. Hazardous coil enclosures meet FM and CSA agency approvals for Class 1: Groups A – D and Class II: Groups E - G.

Vitube Flexible Tubing

NewAge Industries is pleased to offer Vitube tubing made of Dupont Performance Elastomer’s Viton synthetic rubber. The material provides a wide range of chemical resistance along with superior performance, especially at high temperatures. Applications include fuel and oil lines, chemical transfer, peristaltic pumps, appliances, seals and o-rings, automotive fluids, hot lubrication and solvents. Vitube has the flexibility and good mechanical properties of conventional synthetic rubbers, but its heat and chemical resistance go well beyond the range of other rubber materials.

Vitube handles temperatures between -30°F and 400°F (-34°C and 204°C) and has withstood temperatures as high as 600°F (315°C) for limited time periods. Certain fluids, particularly those that are petroleum based, can act as solvents on rubber, disintegrating the material and leading to tubing failure. Vitube withstands many of these fluids, even when temperatures are elevated. Its performance is something that other rubber materials simply cannot match. Vitube is 100%-virgin Viton material and contains no regrind or blends of other elastomers. This purity enables it to provide its outstanding properties and resist:

Oils, fuels, lubricants and most mineral acids
Aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons such as carbon tetrachloride, benzene, toluene and xylene
Sunlight and ozone exposure

NewAge’s Vitube is matte black in color and available in both type A and type B formulations, the latter of which is formulated for peristaltic pump use. Type A offers a Shore A durometer of 75; type B, Shore A durometer 60. Both are stocked in sizes ranging from 1/32” through 7/8” I.D.

Wafer and Lug Style Butterfly Valves

Assured Automation announces its new line of High Performance Butterfly Valves. The HP Series offers Class VI shut-off and an advanced seat design which provides a bi-directional interference and pressure assisted seal. These valves are available in sizes 2″ through 12″ with a pressure rating up to 285 PSI for 150 class and 740 psi for 300 class valves. Body is available in carbon or stainless steel with Wafer or Lugged flanged end connections.

The HP Series disc is engineered for a quick release from the seat, which reduces torque and seat wear. Redundant Valve Manifold

A new redundant valve manifold (RVM) for controlling critical processes brings increased safety and efficiency to Safety Instrumented Systems and other applications where unscheduled shutdowns are unacceptable. The RVM from Norgren is one of the first to offer a two out of three (2oo3) configuration, meaning if one of the three pneumatic logic circuits should malfunction there are two logic circuits still operational, so critical redundancy is maintained. Norgren has integrated its proven Safety Integrity Level (SIL) certified valves on a single manifold to create the RVM, available in aluminum or stainless steel.

The unit eliminates the duplicate piping required to install redundant valve systems. This saves space, simplifies installation and reduces potential leak paths. And, unlike piped systems, the entire valve assembly is SIL approved. The RVM also features visual indicators of valve position and output status so operators monitoring the equipment can see if they need to schedule service during routine maintenance shutdown. The RVM is also available with a manual or electrical bypass option so valves can be serviced while the assembly remains online. Poppet Valve

A poppet valve for applications that must operate in extreme temperatures, as low as -40°C (-40°F) or as high as 60°C (140°F), is the newest addition to the popular line of Prospector poppet valves from Norgren. The Prospector low temperature poppet valve is certified to meet rail industry requirements for extreme temperatures, shock and vibration. It stands up to the harsh environment found in metal forging, pressing, stamping and roll-forming. It is also well suited for machine tools and conveyor systems in pulp and paper operations and food and beverage processing. The valve’s high flow and short stroke result in faster response times.

Machine designers and plant engineers using Prospector valves can select between air pilot or solenoid pilot in a wide range of voltages. The expanded Prospecter poppet line has offerings in a variety of functions with flows from Cv 1.2 up to 49.5.

Blowdown Service Valves

Conval offers Clampseal Blowdown Service Valves to provide necessary control for continuous or tandem boiler or turbine blowdown and bottom blow-off service. For continuous service, blowdown valves are available in ¾” through 3" sizes with butt or socket weld ends, in ASME through 4500. Standard material is Low Alloy SA 182-F22 and F91. For tandem service, blowdown valves are available through 3" sizes with butt or socket weld and flanged ends, in ASME Class through 4500.

Standard materials are Carbon Steel A105, Low Alloy F22 or F91. For both applications, other materials are available upon request. Clampseal blowdown valves are fully serviceable in-line using standard Conval tools. The valves feature a uniform one-piece gland, which eliminates the potential for stem damage or packing leaks from gland cocking. With pressure assisted bonnet seal, the cartridge-style packing chamber allows rapid access to valve trim for inspection and maintenance. The pressure seal backseat provides maximum valve integrity by ensuring a positive internal guide for the valve and stem and disc assembly. This also securely isolates the packing from line pressure when the valves is fully open, to increase packing life.
