We've living in a brave new world. Three-fourths of the planet's population now has access to a mobile phone, according to one report. And the average American mobile subscriber owns 1.57 mobile devices, according to another.
It seems that the world is going mobile for just about every kind of activity – including job hunting.
Prospective employees can search for jobs, apply for jobs, receive e-mail job alerts and contact hiring managers – all from the comfort of their smartphone.
For hiring managers and recruiters, that means it's time "to embrace the integral roles that mobile phones and other mobile platforms now play in acquiring talent," says Dan Charney, managing partner for a Cleveland-based search firm.
