The rebirth of the auto industry, the rise of mobile commerce and the maturation of 3-D printing technology are among the forces that will propel manufacturing to a strong year, according to CEOs who responded to an IndustryWeek survey.
"If the recovery in home construction continues, it will add even more demand for U.S. goods," asserts Gerry Mendelbaum, president of Camber Advisors. "Unless some unforeseen event changes this trajectory, 2014 is poised to be one of the best years for U.S. manufacturers in decades."
