Industrial-equipment conglomerate Atlas Copco AB said it has agreed to buy Rapid-Torc, a Houston-based manufacturer of hydraulic torque wrenches.
Rapid-Torc, which has about 30 employees, also supplies bolt tensioners and related accessories for high-torque applications.
Stockholm-based Atlas Copco said it will integrate Rapid-Torc into its General Industry Tools and Assembly Systems Division within its Industrial Technique business.
"This acquisition broadens our offering for existing customers and provides us with the opportunity to serve new customers in the oil and gas, and power-generation segments," said Mats Rahmstrom, business area president for Atlas Copco Industrial Technique.
Atlas Copco's product portfolio includes air-treatment systems, power tools and construction and mining equipment.
