Why did BriskHeat decide to market this temperature control system?    

Our customers needed a cost-effective, multi-zone control system with a PID temperature controller located right at the heater. Locating the temperature controller right at the heater gives the user more flexibility with wiring and speeds up installation. Each heater is controlled independently, thus providing precise temperature control. The Centipede 2 is the next-generation system with an easy-to-use touch screen operator interface and improved module design. The interface gives the user access to view and change control parameters to fit their application. We also developed a new option with a DIN rail-mounted configuration for our OEM customers. The Centipede 2 STACK fits easily in an OEM tool or machine where multiple zones of temperature control are required in a small space.

How is this control system different from similar products?    

The Centipede 2 allows for easy integration and expansion of the control system. You can easily add more zones of control in the Module version or the STACK version. When you need more zones, just connect additional control modules. The Centipede 2 STACK system can even incorporate the module version where the customer has both internal machine heating and long-distance piping runs that require temperature control.    

What problems did you encounter during the development process?    

BriskHeat developed the Centipede 2 with input from the people with the best ideas, our customers. Each customer has their own unique requirement that we try to incorporate into our product. This can challenge the development time and cost.    

How long did it take from conception to final production?    

The Centipede 2 started in concept when we released the Centipede 1 system. A manufacturer should always be thinking about the next big product to impact the marketplace. Once we decided it was time to move forward, we had Centipede 2 systems in the field in about 18 months.    

Were cost factors significant in affecting the final design of the Centipede 2?   

Cost is always a factor. Customers always want more for less. During the design process, we continually made sure that we reached our goal to offer a better product with more features and benefits for the best price possible.    

Who do you consider your target audience to be and what benefits will they realize from using this product?    

Any customer who requires multiple points of temperature control can benefit from using the Centipede 2. BriskHeat provides heating, insulation, and temperature control for many industries and applications. Our customers need solutions that are energy-efficient and provide accurate temperature control. The Centipede 2 is yet another product BriskHeat offers to meet our customers’ expectations.
