A line of cut-off wheels that feature a thin profile to cut stainless steel cooler and faster than standard resinoid wheels and produce a smaller exit bur is available from Rex-Cut Products, Inc. of Fall River, Massachusetts. Rex-Cut® ALPHA-GREEN Cut-Off Wheels for stainless steel are only 0.040” thick which lets them cut faster and run cooler than conventional resinoid wheels.  Designed for straight- and right angle grinders, these thin profile cut-off wheels produce a clean cut with a smaller exit bur and work up to twice as fast on stainless steel as conventional resinoid wheels, claims the firm.

Featuring a proprietary reinforced resinoid bonding system of 60 grit alum-inum oxide abrasives, Rex-Cut® ALPHA-GREEN Cut-Off Wheels come in Type 1 straight-sided and Type 27 depressed center styles in 3”, 4”, 4-1/2”, 5”, 6”, and 7” dia. sizes.  For cutting aluminum, a 46 grit 0.045” profile version is also available.
