A new line of RoHS compliant Current Transformers from Foster Transformer features compact construction and multiple mounting options to meet any design parameter. They are ideal for use in motor control applications, UPS systems, appliances, or any application where isolated current monitoring is desirable. Standard models feature a 1:500 turns ratio and handle rated currents from 0.1 to 30.0 Amps. Custom designs for other current ranges or ratios are available with a 1,000 piece minimum order. Operating frequency range is from 50 Hz to 400 Hz. These unique transformers feature a primary resistance of .25 mO (max) with a secondary resistance of 21 O (max). Each size/model includes UL Recognized Class 130 (B) insulation. Optional ¼” quick connect terminals keep high current off of the printed circuit board and simplify connections. Since the line being monitored does not have to be passed through the center of the coil as with a toroidal current transformer, wiring is simplified and installation cost reduced.
