ASHRAE grade pocket filter combines three factors critical to commercial buyers: low TCO (Total Cost of Operation); long service life, and the ability to operate without a prefilter. Hi-Flo ES is a high-efficiency ASHRAE grade pocket filter that uses 27-50% less HVAC energy and has a 25-30% longer service life than competitive filters. Key to the performance of the Hi-Flo ES is a high lofted, air laid micro fiber glass media, and a pocket configuration that's unlike anything in the industry.  This unique pocketing system provides several significant advantages.

First, it prevents pocket-to-pocket contact throughout the filter's depth, ensuring uniform airflow and full use of the media.  Controlled media spacing allows the Hi-Flo ES to work with a lower sustained pressure drop than conventional pocket filters.  Finally, an exclusive front-to-back pocket taper makes the filter resistant to tearing and other damage during installation. The result is a long and productive service life, and very low life-cycle cost.

Air quality is critical, and the Hi-Flo filter's unique ability to maintain its original MERV rating (it is manufactured in MERV 11, 13, 14 and 15) throughout its service life ensures protection of building occupants and processes.  Small fiber diameter and uniform lofting provides highly uniform capture of submicron particles while maintaining low resistance to airflow over time.  This is in stark contrast to competitive filters, whose MERV ratings generally fall quickly after installation.  The superior performance of the Hi-Flo media is unaffected by dust loading or humidity.

Second, the filter is inherently "green."  Fewer filter changes are needed, so savings in labor cost, inventory and disposal are significant.  Its high-impact ABS header frame is both recyclable and incinerable.  Its shipping container has a transport handle, so service personal can discard used filters in the same container.  And 3-4 used Hi Flo filters fit in the same space as one rigid filter, producing a 70% reduction in related landfill cost, and a substantial reduction in carbon footprint.

The new Hi-Flo ES is effective against a broad range of contaminants, including those that contribute to sick building syndrome.  The filter also helps meet the standards of the U.S. Green Building Council (“LEED”) for efficiency, energy savings and reduced disposal impact.   Recently, the Hi-Flo ES received 5 stars - the highest rating available - from the Energy Cost Index (ECI) Program.  (5 stars indicates a filter is the most energy-efficient and longest-lasting filter in its class.)
