Features and Advantages of the E-617 high power Amplifier

  • Peak Output Power to 280 W
  • High Source & Sink Currents to 2 Amps
  • Very Low Power Consumption due to Energy Recovery Principle
  • Output voltage -30 to +135 Volts
  • Amplifier bandwidth to 3.5 kHz
  • Short-circuit-proof

High Performance with High Capacitive Loads
The E-617 four quadrant amplifiers were designed to provide precision control of high performance / high capacitance multilayer piezo actuators and positioning systems. They can sink and source currents up to 2000 mA in an output voltage range of -30 to +135V; the amplifier gain is set at 12.

Energy Recovery Operating Principle
The innovative, efficient circuitry reduces power consumption and heat dissipation, especially in dynamic applications. Charge is transferred to the piezo actuator using low-loss PWM techniques. When the actuator is discharged, the energy not consumed is fed through the energy recovery circuitry for reuse in the next charging cycle.
